Light may appear white ("clear")
to the naked eye, but actual white light is rare in real situations. Here
is a reference aid for shifting your light hues to perform more realistically
for your Vue d'Esprit scenes. Note: this is not refering to the color
of light/lamp *objects* (the sun , a candle flame, an exposed light
bulb) but only of the transmitted *lighting* from those emitting
objects.
Due to Vue's inability to
save/share single-color files, I am displaying the color picker with the
RGB settings and a rendered version of that color in use. You do not need
to apply the exact same color hues that I'm showing here; they only need
to be in the same general color-area to represent that particular kind of
lighting.

1 - Sunlight
Sunlight changes constantly throughout a day and is dependant on weather
conditions and seasons as well. These guidelines are general
approximations, not absolutes.
2 - Moonlight
This is a general setting that will serve for most uses. Moonlight
varies in intensity as the moon waxes and wanes.
3 - Ambient light
Generally, ambient light should be a medium neutral tone. However,
colors can be useful in certain situations.
4 - Incandescent
Incandescent bulbs transmit an orange-yellow tinted light.
5 - Fluorescent
Fluorescent lighting is slightly yellow-green.
6 - Television
A running television will cast a desaturated blue tone into a room.
While animated, the color shifts lighter to darker, still within the same
general blue tone.
7 - Candlelight/Fire
Flame transmits a yellow-orange hue. If you're animating, the color
can take shifts from orange to yellow as well as from light to
dark.
8 - Gas
Gas lighting emits a strong turquoise blue hue, but very clear, almost
to white.
9 - Sodium Arc
Sodium arc lamps emit very bright, nearly white tones of true
blue.
10 - Fog Lamps
Fog lamps (on cars or over parking lots) are typically orange
toned.
11 - Halogen
Halogen lighting is a very intense blue, nearly indistinguishable
from white.
